Rick Powell

Meet Rick.  Born on March 22, 1989 in West Chester, PA  He is a lifelong resident of Parkesburg, PA  Rick is the son of Jim and Sandy Powell.  He graduated in Feb, 2008 from American Intercontinental University Online with an Associates degree in Business Administration.  Rick has been in a boat since he was two years old, when he started doing canoe trips with his parents.  He began slalom racing with his mom in OC-2 at three years old.  He got his first kayak when he was four and entered his first kayak slalom race when he was six years old.  He fell in love with slalom racing at an early age.  Slalom racing has opened many doors and opportunities for Rick.  He has been on four continents, in almost every state in the US and several providences in Canada.  Rick paddles every discipline in slalom: kayak, C-1, C-2 and open Canoe, both solo and doubles.  Rick also enjoys skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, traveling, and biking.
